"Ice Kacang Puppy Love" wins big at 1st Golden Wau Awards

18 Oct – Malaysia's 2010 romance movie "Ice Kacang Puppy Love" was the biggest winner at the first Golden Wau Awards that was recently held.

As reported on Oriental Daily website, the movie, which was also Malaysian-born actor Aniu's directorial debut, won five awards including Best Film, Best Actress for Angelica Lee, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, as well as Best Art Design.

Meanwhile, another movie starring Aniu, "The Wedding Diary", took home two awards for Best Supporting Actress (Kara Hui) and Most Popular Malaysian Chinese-language Film.

The Golden Wau Awardsis an event celebrating Chinese-language cinema in Malaysia. This year marks the first time the event has been held.

Best Editing: Victor Wai Tuck ("Ice Kacang Puppy Love")
Best Sound Effects: TU Duu-chih ("Kepong Gangster")

Best Original Score: Teng Bee & Stanley Fam ("Kepong Gangster")
Best Theme Song: "Hantu Gangster"

Best Art Design: Too Wen Huel ("Ice Kacang Puppy Love")
Best Image Design: ENW Styling Team ("Petaling Street Warriors")

Best Local Non-Chinese film: "The Malay Chronicles: Bloodlines Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa"
