NOTE TO EDITOR
Understand Islam Build Civilisation
UNDERSTAND ISLAM
Being a religion (dīn) which is in harmony with human nature, Islam is suitable
for all mankind. Truth, justice and love are three major principles put forth by
the Quran which if practised will ensure that society will live in prosperity,
harmony and mutual respect. Islam has to be understood as a religion that
educates rather than one that merely punishes.
BUILD CIVILISATION
Building human civilisation is a lofty vision that has to be shouldered by all
quarters. Civilisation will be shaped through knowledge that is internalised in
its entirety. True knowledge will advance society in all fields of life.
IKIM is committed in conveying knowledge through continuous academic discussions
of various issues encompassing the socio-cultural, economic, political, legal,
inter-religious, environmental as well as scientific and technological
dimensions.
