'I intend to fulfil Barcelona contract' - Dani Alves

Dani Alves has dismissed rumours linking him with a move away from Barcelona, affirming that he expects to fulfil his contract with the club.

The Brazil international still has four years to run on his current deal with the Blaugrana but it has been reported that the Catalans are open to cashing in one of their most saleable assets. However, Dani Alves insists that he is not looking for a departure.

"I have a contract until 2016 and I intend to fulfil it," the 29-year-old right-back told Globoesporte. "I'm happy in Barcelona. A lot of things get said but they are only rumours."

Indeed, Dani Alves insists that the only thing he is worried about at the moment is getting back to full fitness after suffering a dislocated shoulder at the tail end of the season.

The former Sevilla man is one of six players vying for the three over-23 spots in Mano Menezes' Brazil squad for this summer's Olympics and he is desperate for represent his country in London.

"I'm working hard to achieve my goal and make myself available to Mano," Dani Alves said.

"Injuries happen, but what counts is the work I've done before with the Selecao and Mano knows this, so I am calm.

"I'm now beginning a phase of physiotherapy and I'll be fully recovered by early July.

"Mano's responsibility is to choose the best available to represent Brazil in London and I hope that I have the opportunity to realise my dream."

Dani Alves, who has been capped 55 times by the Selecao, arrived at Camp Nou from Sevilla in 2008 and has since established himself as one of the best attacking full-backs in the game.
