KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 (Bernama) -- Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ahmad
Zahid Hamidi has urged the Barisan Nasional-friendly All Malaysian Indian
Progressive Front (IPF) to set aside its internal problems to help Barisan
Nasional (BN) win big the coming 13th general election.
He also hoped for any conflict in any BN-friendly or component party to be
resolved immediately so that BN would emerge as a strong, solid team in facing
the coming elections.
"I am confident that IPF will be able to solve its own problems in its
effort to strengthen the party," he said when representing Prime Minister Datuk
Seri Najib Tun Razak in opening the IPF annual general assembly in Seri
Kembangan, near here, today.
Ahmad Zahid said BN-friendly and component parties needed to uphold the
ruling coalition''s struggle of prioritising the people in all socio-economic
aspects.
"Only BN is capable of leading a multi-racial country like ours justly and
fairly, and I believe the people will reject the opposition in the coming
elections," said Ahmad Zahid, who is also Defence Minister.
