Iranian clerics blame Israel for 'murdering' nuclear scientist, calls for vengeance

Tehran, Jan 13(ANI): Iranian clerics have demanded retribution against Israel whom they hold responsible for the assassination of top nuclear scientist Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan. The clerics conveyed their message through a hard-line Tehran newspaper, which many a time serves as their mouthpiece. Hossein Shariatmadari, the Chief Editor of Kayhan, wrote in an editorial, "Those corrupt people are easy to identify and are within our reach. Assassinating army officials and senior leaders in the Zionist government is very easy." He also jogged people's memory by reminding them of a threat by Israel's military chief to damage Iran's nuclear programme, The New York Daily News reports. "Israeli military chief Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz in his recent remarks spoke about damaging Iran's nuclear program," he added. Roshan was the Deputy Director of the Natanz uranium enrichment plant and the fourth one to die at the hands of motorcycle-riding executioners. So far, five Iranian nuclear scientists have been killed. Israel and the US have denied playing any role in the assassination of top nuclear scientists from Iran. (ANI)
