Jade Solid Gold may lack star appearances

16 Jan – Despite already resolving their conflict with the Hong Kong Recording Industry Alliance (HKRIA) back in 2013, it seemed that TVB's 2013 Jade Solid Gold Music Awards that will be held this upcoming weekend may still lack several famous performers and appearances.

According to Mingpao, stars such as Eason Chan and Kay Tse will unlikely attend the event, while Raymond Lam reportedly may not be making an appearance as well.

It was reported that though TVB and HKRIA had ended their dispute, the artistes themselves were required to sign an additional JSG competition contract. As such, many believe that this year's awards will likely see more winners from TVB's Star Dream, and EEG.

Reportedly, Kay Tse, who did not join her Star Shine peers into moving to Star Dream, refused to attend the event as it is more likely that EEG's darling, Joey Yung will bag most of the awards.

It was also alleged that Raymond Lam, who has not been hesitating to renew his TVB contract may not make an appearance as well, with rumours saying that the company is putting their hopes on "Voice of Stars" alumnus, Alfred Hui instead.

The 2013 Jade Solid Gold Music Awards is set to take place on 19 January.
