BANGI, May 21 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Islamic Development Department
(Jakim) will cooperate with the Orang Asli Development Department (JAKAO) and
the relevant non-government organisations when carrying missionary works in the
Orang Asli community.
Minister in the Prime Minister''s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom
said such a cooperation was necessary to ensure effectiveness and maximum impact
of programmes that were carried out.
He said a different approach of dakwah was required in the Orang Asli
community because of the different environment and facilities.
"This is to ensure the dakwah is well-received by them," he told reporters
after opening a leadership symposium for Muslim Orang Asli village heads at the
Malaysian Islamic Training Institute here today.
