KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 (Bernama) -- The Joint Malaysia-Brunei Photography

Exhibition 2012 will further strengthen bilateral relation and cooperation that

had been established between the two countries for the past 20 years,

Information Communication and Culture Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Seri

Kamaruddin Siaraf.

He said the exhibition was organised to provide better understanding and

exposure on the constitutional monarchy system in Malaysia and Brunei.

"This photography exhibition also demonstrates the two-way activities that

have existed between Malaysia and Brunei," he said in his speech at the opening

of the exhibition at the Istana Negara Lama here today.

He said the exhibition was held in conjunction with the installation of the

14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu''adzam Shah, last month.

The text of the speech was read by the ministry''s deputy secretary-general

(Information), Datuk Dr Rothiah Omar.

Also present at the function were Brunei Darussalam High Commissioner to

Malaysia Datuk Paduka Ishaaq Abdullah, Information Director-General Ibrahim

Abdul Rahman and Brunei Darussalam Information Department Director Dr Muhammad

Hadi Muhammad Melayong.

Kamaruddin said the exhibition was a continuation of a similar programme

held since 2009 by both countries.

Last year''s exhibition, with the theme "Raja Kita" (Our King) was hosted by

Brunei.
