Michal Kadlec has insisted that all is not over, despite Czech Republic suffering a 4-1 defeat to Russia in their Euro 2012 Group A curtain raiser on Friday.
The Bayer Leverkusen defender was deployed as a left-back at the Municipal Stadium, but was unable to prevent Alan Dzagoev and Roman Shirokov scoring early on to give the Russians a 2-0 lead early on.
Despite Vaclav Pilar's goal, Dick Advocaat's men netted twice through Dzagoev and Roman Pavlyuchenko to seal a convincing victory to go top of Group A.
While the 27-year-old accepted that his side made mistakes, Kadlec claims the Czechs have what it takes to bounce back from their defeat and still top the group.
"There are still two games left and with the first one [of the tournament, Poland v Greece] ending in a 1-1 draw. I can see us winning the rest of our group games and progressing to the quarter-finals." Kadlec told reporters after the game.
"We will definitely analyse the game tomorrow and everything is possible, if we learn from our mistakes. We must change few things on Tuesday in order to win a game.
"We have lost the ball a lot and it's hard to restore the shape of the midfield with the class of players they had. We have made it hard for ourselves, first goal, then the second, but we can only hope that the second game is different."
Michal Bilek's side's next encounter is with Greece on Tuesday at 18:00CET.
