KOHILAN SIGNS CONDOLENCE BOOK FOR LATE GHANA PRESIDENT

KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 (Bernama) -- Deputy Foreign Minister Kohilan A.

Pillay, on behalf of the Malaysian government, today signed the condolence book

on the demise of Ghana President, John Atta Mills.

The Foreign Ministry in a statement today said the signing was done at the

republic''s High Commission here.

In the condolence message, Kohilan said Mills'' departure was not only a

great loss to the republic''s government, but also to the African region as a

whole.

"During this period of grief, may the people of the Republic of Ghana and

particularly his bereaved family be given strength and solace to overcome their

sorrow," he wrote.

Mills died of an unspecified illness on Tuesday, just a few days after

celebrating his 68th birthday on Saturday.
