Lorry driver found with throat slit

SUBANG JAYA: An Indonesian man was found dead with his throat slit, outside his "kongsi", near the construction site of the Damansara--Puchong Expressway (LDP)--Persiaran Kewajipan intersection near USJ 21 yesterday.

The victim was identified as Yusaini Safari, 43, a lorry driver at the construction site.

Subang Jaya police chief ACP Yahaya Ramli said police rushed to the scene after they were informed of the incident about 8am.

Investigations revealed the motive of the attack was revenge--related as his belongings were not taken.

In the 6.30am incident, Yahaya said, the victim's housemate, who was taking a bath at the time of the incident, heard a scream and upon checking, found Yusaini sprawled in a pool of blood.

"Besides having his throat slit, his left eye was also slashed," he said.

Yahaya said the remains have been taken to Serdang Hospital for post--mortem.

One of Yusaini's colleague, Budianto, 21, said the victim, from Acheh, started working at the site about two months ago.

"His family perished during 2004 tsunami and he decided to come to start a new life and had been working in many construction sites before this," said Budianto.
