PETALING JAYA, Feb 19 (Bernama) -- Police have detained eight suspects
including the victim''s wife in the murder of a lorry driver who was found dead
in his house at Taman Petaling Utama Flat in Jalan PJS 1/52 on Thursday.
Petaling Jaya police chief, ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed said the motive of the
murder was believed to be related to the victim''s 34 year-old wife''s relations
with a 22 year-old man who was the main suspect.
Arjunaidi said four teenagers who were arrested one day after the murder
alleged the victim''s wife had planned the murder with her lover by promising to
pay RM5,000 to each of the four teenagers including two secondary school
students to kill her husband.
"On the day of the murder, the four teenagers and the main suspect entered
the house with the assistance of the wife before attacking the victim who was
asleep," he told reporters at the Petaling Jaya Police Headquarters, here today.
He said the victim died from serious injuries on the back and hands after
being attacked with a machete.

"Police have also detained the parents of the main suspect to assist in the
investigation as they were neighbours of the victim and were believed to have
aided the main suspect in plotting the murder," he said.
He said the eight suspects were being remanded for a week since yesterday
and police was hunting for another suspect believed to be involved in the
murder.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code
which provided the mandatory death penalty if convicted.
In the 3am incident on Thursday, the victim, M Ganesan, 35, died after being
attacked by several men using machetes.
