MAF TO FOSTER SKILLS, INTELLECT

KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) -- Skills and intellect must be fostered

among Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) staff to encourage creativity in their

services, said Armed Forces Chief General Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zain.

He said they also needed to pursue the education and training processes

continously as they were sources of creative and innovative ideas.

"They need to diversify the activities for innovation acculturation, such as

encouraging the establishment of innovative and creative groups that will

provide opportunities to the armies to resolve problems or improve delivery

service," he said in his speech at the launch of the MAF Handbook of Innovation

Culture at the Defence Ministry here today.

Also present were Army Chief Gen Tan Sri Zulkifli Zainal Abidin, Air Force

Deputy Chief Lt Gen Datuk Roslan Saad and Navy Deputy Chief Vice-Admiral Datuk

Mohammed Noordin Ali.

Zulkifeli said MAF should be critical and constructive in their

responsibilities to find creative and innovative solutions, and also dare to

experiment with new working methods.

He said the MAF management at every level should give priority in success

management, including reward, appreciation and recognition to individuals and

teams, to ensure excellence in the organisations.
