KUALA LUMPUR: Want 'motivated' and 'responsible' employees? Don't fret, because they're all right here in Malaysia.
Well, at least they are on LinkedIn.
According to the professional network, these are the top two overused buzzwords used by Malaysians on the professional network, the largest in the world.
Others on the list include 'dynamic', 'interpersonal' and 'track record'.
Malaysia is lumped together with Saudi Arabia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, all of whom have equally ‘motivated’ professionals while ‘multinational’ came out tops in Indonesia and ‘effective’ was the top word for Indians.
Globally, however, more people used 'creative', which was number one in countries like Singapore, Canada, the United States, Australia, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and New Zealand.
“If you want opportunity to come knocking, you’ve got to make your LinkedIn Profile stand out from the pack," the network's communications head for Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia Tara
Commerford said. "Pointing to concrete examples of the creative work you’ve done is more convincing than simply stating you are a ‘creative’ professional," she said in a statement.
This is the third year that LinkedIn has issued its buzzwords ranking, and the first year that it has conducted the study in Malaysia.
“Creative” was also the top overused buzzword for professionals globally in the 2011 rankings. The year before that, buzzwords like “extensive experience,” “dynamic,” “motivated” and “innovative” ruled.
