PUTRAJAYA, May 26 (Bernama) -- Malaysia has its own way to find political

solutions without having to follow those from abroad including by using violence

and carrying out brutal demonstrations, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Ahmad Zahid, who is als Umno vice-president, said the present

generation was matured and would not find political solutions out of the norms.

"We will not copy the way it is done by other countries," said Ahmad Zahid.

He said the action of the opposition in aping the ways of people in other

countries who resorted to street demonstrations to topple governments or demand

something in a violent manner to the extent of breaking the law, was born of

desperation.

He said the methods, such as brutal demonstrations, clearly showed the

opposition pact never practiced the democratic system.

It was up to the people to evaluate whom they should pick to lead the

country, he said after witnessing the Free Run Practice Drift at the Precinct

2 Circuit here in conjunction with the Million Youths Gathering 2012, today.

He was asked to comment on the statement by ex-Prime Minister Tun Dr

Mahathir Mohamad in his latest blog entry that the opposition pact would

launch a violent demonstration if it lost in the coming general election to

cause the outcome of the general election to be rejected, and another government

be appointed by the opposition.
