MALAYSIA HAS STRONG SUPPORT FOR BUSINESS GROWTH- DR CHUA

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 4 (Bernama) -- Malaysia''s economic, political and policies

have created a strong base for business growth in the country, said MCA

president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

Since independence, Dr Chua said the country had achieved a satisfactory

economic growth, thus complimenting the stability of the country in all terms.

Speaking to reporters after attending the MCA Wangsa Maju Chinese New Year

2012 Open House, here today, Dr Chua said that as a result, businessmen could do

well in this country compared to some other countries.

Therefore, he refuted the remark made by DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang in his

Chinese New Year message recently that the Chinese community had managed to

attain economic prosperity despite what Lim had alleged as the failings of the

    Barisan Nasional (BN) federal government.

Commenting on a statement made by CIMB chief executive officer, Datuk Seri

Nazir Razak who said that the economic reforms were moving slowly due to

distractions of the general election, he opined that this was not true.

"I think that is not true, I think the businessmen are still busy making

money, I don''t think any businessman will say they will close shop today because

they don''t know when is the election," he said.

On the other hand, Chua said he was not suprised with the dissolution of the

Parti Keadilan Insan Tanah Air (KITA), as he said it was not easy to maintain

the resillience of a newly formed party.
