Kuala Lumpur (The Star/ANN) - Malaysian actress, model and TV host Wardina Safiyyah Fadlullah Wilmot lost cash and belongings worth 20,000 ringgit (US$6,400) when her house was broken into by three masked men.
The robbers, armed with sticks and screw drivers, got into the double-storey terrace house in Taman Bukit Utama, Bukit Antara-bangsa through a back door at about 3am yesterday.
Wardina, 33, was sleeping alone in the master bedroom as she was not feeling well while her husband and three children - Amna Nafeesa, eight, Azra Fareera, five, and Imran Ar-Razi, three - were sleeping in other rooms.
One of the robbers entered her room and pulled her blanket, instructing her to squat down while his accomplices hauled the rest of her family members into her room, she said at her house later.
Wardina said her husband Ikwan Johari, 36, was tied up using cables and beaten. The rest of the family was unharmed. The maid was with them, too.
"One of the robbers kept watch over us while the other two ransacked the house. They were there for 45 minutes before escaping," she added.
The robbers escaped with five laptops, four mobile phones, a gold ring, the family's car keys and cash.
Wardina lodged a police report at the Hulu Klang police station at 4.30am.
Later, she tweeted about the robbery, saying that her children were traumatised by the incident.
Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Amiruddin Jamaluddin said a thorough investigation was being carried out.
