MAN ARRESTED FOR LYING TO POLICE OVER FRIEND'S DEATH

KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 (Bernama) -- The police arrested a waiter after he

allegedly lodged a false report over the death of his friend, who fell of a

seventh floor flat in Pandan Perdana, Ampang, this afternoon.

Ampang Jaya deputy police chief Supt Nazri Nawawi said the suspect reported

that Rasidi Sigo, 34, fell to his death from the kitchen''s window after he was

seen to be in a state of delirium at about 1pm.

Nazri said the suspect was arrested at the crime scene when the police found

a slash mark on the victim''s neck and patches of blood in the flat.

"Police investigations indicated that there a struggle before Rasidi lost

his balance and fell to the ground," said Nazri.

Rasidi, who arrived from Kuching, Sarawak, two days ago died at the scene.

His body was sent to the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital.

The suspect, who is a waiter at a hotel here, stayed at the flat for the

past one year.
