KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 (Bernama) -- Police have made a major break through in
the horrific car park attack on a woman during a robbery at a shopping complex
last Friday, with the arrest of an unemployed man at 3am today.
The unemployed man, believed to be the leader of ''Geng Khairul'', is believed
to be involved in the attack on a woman while she was heading to her car.
The 21-year-old suspect from Gerik, Perak was detained at a house in Taman
Desa, Brickfields at 3am and recovered some items stolen from the victim at the
car park said Brickfields police deputy chief Supt Aida Abdul Hamid.
"We also seized a jeans, a T-shirt and a 29cm knife," she told reporters
here today adding that the suspect had previous criminal records.
Aida said following the arrest of the suspect, police detained another two
teenagers, one of them believed to be the suspect''s fiancee, for questioning.

The 19-year-old teenage girl was from Ampang, Selangor while the 16-year-old
student lived near the suspect''s house.
"The suspect had borrowed a bag from his fiancee and kept all the stolen
goods in the bag. The student acts as the middleman to sell the stolen
handphone," said Aida.
During the 10.30pm incident on Friday near an entrance to a cinema, a
24-year-old woman was attacked, robbed and stabbed in her chest during the
robbery and needed 12 stitches.
She lost her identity card, credit cards and hand phone.
