    Vaughn to direct "X-Men" sequel

7 Feb – After gaining success for "X-Men: First Class" last year, director Matthew Vaughn has reportedly signed on to direct the second instalment of the superhero movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Vaughn will rejoin the team of familiar names that includes Bryan Singer, who claimed recognition for directing "X-Men" and "X2", and Simon Kinberg, the writer of "Sherlock Holmes", for the movie sequel.

The sequel of "X-Men: First Class" will make both it and the previous Vaughn's first successful franchise after stalled efforts to turn his 2007's "Stardust" and 2010's "Kick-Ass" into movie series.

The English filmmaker is also in discussions about bringing his "Kick-Ass" colleague, Mark Millar's works to the silver screen, which are "The Secret Service" and "Superior".

With "X-Men: First Class" grossing US$353.6 million worldwide, the sequel will definitely be recasting Michael Fassbender as Magneto and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. However, for those who want more of Fassbender and Lawrence can watch the former in "Prometheus" and the latter in "The Hunger Games", out June and March respectively this year.
