MCA CONFIDENT BN WILL REGAIN SELANGOR FROM OPPOSITION

KLANG, May 20 (Bernama) -- MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said the

party was confident Barisan Nasional would regain control over Selangor from the

opposition coalition government.

He said the people should evaluate the performance of their current state

assemblymen before casting their votes in the next general election.

He said some opposition assemblymen could not even solve simple issues in

their constituencies, like potholes, clogged drains and mulfunctioning street

lights.

"MCA understands that when voters picked their representatives, they were

always enchanted with those who talked a lot, and the opposition members did

talk a lot.

"But they must also be aware that they need the ''wakil rakyat'' to serve the

local constituencies because we are a developing nation whereby, a lot of

problems need to be solved," added Dr Chua.

He was speaking to reporters during his walkabout at Taman Chi Liung here

today.
