SINGAPORE, July 31 (Bernama) -- MIPIM Asia, the world''s property market in
Asia Pacific, today revealed the winners of its established Awards competition,
which has honoured outstanding real estate projects in the Asia Pacific region
since 2007.
The MIPIM Asia Awards jury, headed by Vincent H.S. LO, Chairman of Shui On
Group, met in Hong Kong on July 27 to examine the 117 projects from 12 countries
that entered this year''s competition.
China, Singapore and Malaysia dominated the list of entries with
respectively 55, 14 and 10 projects.
China''s participation has notably increased by almost 90 per cent compared
to 2011.
Submissions also covered Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea,
the Philippines, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.
The 12 industry experts composing the international jury selected the winners
in 11 distinct categories, for a total of 30 rewarded projects namely Best
Chinese Futura Project -- Suning.com Headquarters, Tsinghua University Law
Library Beijing, Xi''an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Administration Information
Building Suzhou, China; Best Chinese Futura Mega project category (China
Southern Airline Guangzhou Airport City), and Northstar Xin He Delta Changsa,
Xihongmen Development.
Best Futura Project -- Diagonal Tower Seoul, Ophir-Rochor Singapore, and
Yongsan International Business District; Best Fortura Mega Project -- Berjaya
Jeju Airest City; Best Innovative Green Building -- Double Cove, Hong Kong,
HAUS@Serangoon Garden, Singapore and Jem Singapore.
Best Mixed-Use Development category -- Hysan Place Hong Kong, Kerry Parkside
Shanghai, and TaiKoo Hui Guangzhou; Best Office & Development -- 50 Connaught
Road Central Hong Kong, Tianjin Global Financial Centre, and Zuellig Building
Makati City, Manila; Best Residential Development -- Ascentia Sky Singapore,
Duchess Residences, and Singapore JKC1 Singapore.
Best Retail & Leisure Development -- Central Plaza Rama 9 Bangkok, Korea
International Exhibition Centre II (KINTEX II), and Parc 66 Jinan, China; Best
Retail Expansion -- Nike Shanghai, and Vacheron Constantin Beijing; and Best
Urban Regeneration Project -- Chengdu Daci Temple cultural and commercial
complex, Chengdu, Shanghai Bund Waterfront Shanghai, and Surpass Court Shanghai.
In November, MIPIM Asia delegates will vote on site at the Awards gallery
for their favourite project in each category.
Their vote will be combined with the jury''s vote, each group making up 50
per cent of the final decision.
The final results will determine the ranking of each category winner: Gold,
Silver or Bronze. The rewarded projects will receive ultimate recognition during
the Awards Gala dinner at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Hong Kong on Nov 8, 2012.
New this year, the 30 winners will be submitted to a pre-MIPIM Asia online
vote open to the public who will choose the winner of the "Your Choice Award".
