Mohd Nazmi who is expected to leave to Portugal on Sunday with his father
Mansor Mustapha said he would not squander the opportunity to play in Europe
although he would be facing a number of obstacles, especially the weather.
"I will put my best foot forward to impress the selectors and become the
first player to play for a European club," said the midfielder at Wisma FAM here
today.
Harimau Muda A coach Ong Kim Swee who was also present said Mohd Nazmi had
informed him of the offer after a free agent from Portugal was impressed by the
ability of the player while playing in the S-League in Singapore.
Kim Swee said Mohd Nazmi, 17, would have an opportunity to play for the club
based in Aveiro, Portugal, if he can impress the selectors.
Mohd Nazmi, a student from the Bukit Jalil Sports School, becomes the third
player from the country to try and attempt to play for an European club after
Pelita Jaya player Mohd Safee Sali and Selangor''s Mohd Safiq Rahim had failed in
their attempts to feature with Cardiff City, last year.
