Most blogged artists: EMA releases new track, debut album

New to the blogs in recent days, EMA, aka Erika M. Anderson, claims a top spot in The Hype Machine’s most blogged artists chart on May 9 with the release of a new track from her debut album, Past Life Martyred Saints, due out this week. Also in the day’s top ten, dubstep producer Zomby gains some buzz.

EMA, the former frontwoman of the California noise-folk band Gowns, followed up the release of her track "California" with "Milkman," which blogger I Rock Cleveland (blog.irockcleveland.com) describes as "another impressive cut on what is truly an impressive album." "I’ve been slowly falling in love with Erika M. Anderson," adds blogger I Guess I’m Floating (www.iguessimfloating.net), "with each new song, hook, and verse the past few months."

Zomby is another hot topic in the day’s top ten with the release of a new track featuring Panda Bear, experimental musician and founding member of Animal Collective. Of the new collaboration, "Things Fall Apart," blogger Abeano (www.abeano.com) writes: "The reasons we loved him before – the skittering rhythms, oscillating synths and (waaaait for it) huge bass tones are given a soft touch by Panda B’s vocals.
