BETONG, May 24 (Bernama) -- The rural and regional development ministry
plans to build another Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) in Sarawak''s northern
region to increase the quality of education in rural areas.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, said plans to build the new MRSM
college would be included in the Tenth Malaysia Plan (10MP), having already
received approval from the Cabinet.
"Another MRSM college will be set up in Sarawak''s northern region, for
which, we are currently still in talks with the state government for a suitable
site," he told reporters after MRSM Batong''s launching ceremony here today.
He said there were currently, 46 MRSM colleges nationwide, three of which
were in Sarawak (Kuching, Mukah and Betong).
