MUAR, May 19 (Bernama) -- The deputy prime minister has appreciated former
DAP vice-chairman Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim''s glowing tribute to Prime
Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for implementing the transformation
programmes.
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said, Tunku Abdul Aziz''s statement which also
called on the people to support Najib''s leadership, was rational and that he
served as a role model to others.
"I deeply appreciate the views from someone (Tunku Abdul Aziz) who really
understands the current situation," he told reporters at the Seri Pekembar
complex in Pagoh, after attending the Leong Hup Family Day at the Pagoh Sports
Complex.
On an allegation that Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng had offered a post
and salary after Tunku Abdul Aziz resigned from the party, Muhyiddin said:
"It is not our responsibility. Let the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission
do their duty."
He noted that Tunku Abdul Aziz, a former Bank Negara advisor, resigned from
his post as DAP vice-chairman and walked out of the party after disagreeing with
the party leadersip''s plan to hold the Bersih 3.0 rally on April 28.
The rally eventually turned into a riot.
