GEORGE TOWN, June 15 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin
Yassin is scheduled to make a day-long visit to Penang tomorrow, according to
the Penang Federal Development Office.
It said in a statement that Muhyiddin is scheduled to arrive in Penang at 9
am and go straight into a meeting with non-governmental organisations
representing Malays in the state, at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
He is also scheduled to have a meeting with industry workers at Western
Digital Media (M) Sdn Bhd and witness the signing of a memorandum of agreement
(MOA) among the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA), Advanced
Micro Devices Export Sdn Bhd and Fabtronic Sdn Bhd.
The MOA is aimed at introducing the Northern Corridor Industrial Technical
Enhancement Scheme (NCITES) for unemployed graduates to secure a permanent job
after getting industrial skills training and industrial exposure in selected
specialised fields.
At the event, more than 5,000 industry workers will listen to the deputy
prime minister talk of federal government efforts to implement various
development projects and provide trade facilities and incentives to enhance the
economic standard and step up social development in Penang.

Muhyiddin will be accompanied by Minister in the Prime Minister''s Department
Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop and Human Resources Minister Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam.
Later in the day, the deputy prime minister is scheduled to have a look at
construction work on the Second Penang Bridge and attend a briefing given by
Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd (JKSB) chairman Tan Sri Dr Sulaiman Mahbob at the project
site in Batu Maung.
Muhyiddin is also scheduled to meet more than 20,000 people at a "Semarak
Kasih Rakyat" gathering in Jalan Raja Uda, Butterworth, before returning to
Kuala Lumpur.
