IPOH, July 11 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is
to make a day-long visit to Perak tomorrow.
A statement issued by the Deputy Prime Minister''s Office said Muhyiddin is
scheduled to launch the Sungai Siputeh Mini RTC (Rural Transformation Centre) in
Selama at 11 am.
He is scheduled to open the Taiping Perdana Hotel at No. 1, Lorong Koperasi
1, Medan Koperasi, Taiping, at 2.30 pm.
The deputy prime minister is scheduled to wind up his visit by officiating
at the ground-breaking for the Taiping Umno Building in Jalan Kota Kampung
Jambu, Taiping, at 4 pm.
Up to 240 rural information centres in the country will be converted to Mini
RTCs, with 77 of them to be established this year.
Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal
recently officiated at the pre-launch of the Mini RTC in Kuala Pilah which
provides training and courses for the rural community on computer handling,
Internet access and setting up of blogs.
