KUALA LUMPUR, June 29 (Bernama) -- Healthcare service information can now be
accessed via smart devices, including smartphones and tablets, with the
implementation of the Health Ministry''s mobile application, known as myHealth
Apps, today.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said various information would be
available through the application, including the list of healthcare facilities,
frequently asked questions on healthcare, health risk evaluation, list of
medical practitioners, registered medical products and dengue information.
"The project is aimed at providing the people the quick and easy access to
healthcare information by using their smart devices, including smartphones," he
said at the Health Media Award Nite 2012 here today.
His speech text was read by his deputy Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin.
Liow said the project was implemented with cooperation from the Malaysian
Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu).

Liow also hoped that members of the media would continue playing their roles
in helping the ministry by producing informative and interesting news about
healthcare that would benefit the people.
Meanwhile, he said 146 nominations from television and radio stations,
magazines and newspapers of various languages were received by the ministry for
the Health Media Award this year.
Norindah Khairi from Bernama Radio24 won the second place in the Best Health
Promo Award through her news story entitled ''Illegal Dental Practitioner and the
Risk of Getting Treatment From Street Dentist''.
She received cash prize of RM2,500 with accompanying certificate.
