KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 Jun (Bernama) -- Healthcare service information can
now be accessed through the smartphones with the implementation of the Health
Ministry''s mobile application known as ''myHealth Apps''.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the public could obtain
various information through the application, including the list of healthcare
facilities, frequently asked questions on healthcare, health risk evaluation,
list of medical practitioners, registered medical products and on dengue.
"The project is aimed at providing the people with quick and easy access to
healthcare information by using their smart devices, including smartphones,
anytime and anywhere," he said at the Health Media Award Nite 2012 here today.
The text of his speech was read by his deputy, Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid
Shirlin.
Liow said the project was implemented with the cooperation of the Malaysian
Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu).

Liow also hoped that members of the media would continue with their role to
help the ministry by producing informative and interesting news on healthcare
for the benefit of the society.
On this year''s Health Media Award Nite, he said the ministry received 146
nominations from television and radio stations, magazines and newspapers of
various languages.
Norindah Khairi from Bernama Radio24 won the main award for the Best Health
Promo Award through her news story entitled ''Illegal Dental Practitioners and
the Risks of Getting Treatment From Street Dentists''. She received RM2,500 and a
certificate.
