Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today called on all Malaysians to stand united in their hour of grief in honour of and to commemorate the victims of the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 tragedy.

"I call on all Malaysians to stand united in this hour of grief, together in common prayer.

"No words can express the sense of loss in seeing the bodies return, my prayers are with the victims and families of #MH17," Najib said in a post on his Twitter account.

Najib was among those present at the Bunga Raya Complex of the KL International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang to attend the ceremony honouring the 20 victims of the MH17 tragedy whose remains were flown home today.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah were also present at the ceremony which was held at the complex located adjacent to the KLIA main terminal building.

The special aircraft bearing the remains of the 20 Malaysians who died in the tragedy in eastern Ukraine on July 17 landed at 9.54am and the remains were sent to the cemeteries decided on by the families.

Forty-three Malaysians were among the 298 people killed in the tragedy when flight MH17 went down in Ukraine en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. It is believed that the aircraft was shot down over the troubled country. – Bernama, August 22, 2014.
