KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Indian United Party (MIUP)
president Datuk S. Nallakarupan today reiterated his claim that Datuk Seri Anwar
Ibrahim, who was once his close friend, is not qualified to lead the country.
He told a news conference he was puzzled as to how the opposition pact could
accept Anwar as the opposition leader.
"He (Anwar) just goes around telling (people that) Barisan Nasional (BN) and
Umno are no good. That''s all he says.
"(But) the present prime minister is very daring, very honest and he is
doing his best for the people. We need this (kind of) prime minister for the
country.
"This is the first time he is facing a general election after becoming the
prime minister. The rakyat (people) must give him a chance," he said.
