Nash’s fate up to Syura Council, says PAS Youth chief

By Nomy Nozwir

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 — The fate of former PAS deputy president Nasharudin Md Isa will be decided by the party’s Syura council convening tomorrow, PAS Youth chief Nasrudin Hassan Tantawi said today.

Nasrudin said the decision was being left to the council as the former PAS no. 2 is one of its members

“All members of the Syura Council have been sent an internal memo two weeks ago, and if they cannot attend they must inform the Council a few days earlier.

“As such, since Nasharuddin Md Isa has not given any notice, we expect him to attend the meeting tomorrow,” he told The Malaysian Insider after the monthly youth division meeting at their headquarters today.

Nasruddin added that tomorrow’s council meeting will also be attended by Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat, the PAS commissioner for Kelantan.

Earlier, the Youth chief had chaired the movement’s meeting on the country’s Budget 2013, where it resolved to demand more job opportunities for the young.

He added that PAS Youth hoped the Budget will not just be “political goodies” given that the general election is due by April next year.

“It has become a trend; every time we are close to an election, the Budget will contain politically motivated goodies. This practise must stop,” Nasrudin said.
