Dr Rais also referred to the ever-increasing use of the social media, with
13 million Facebook and Twitter users to date in the country, and expressed the
desire to see at least 1,000 cyber troopers of the ministry more actively using
the social media to disseminate information on the ministry with positive
impact.
"This means we generate positive news on healthy developments which
contributes to the ministry''s internal strength. As such, we should support
policies which have a positive effect on the people.
"We use the cyber world to express our respective assertiveness and views.
In this way, we can pool our resources. For example, if any policy of the
government is manipulated, we have to counter in a mild manner," he said.
To realise this intention, the ministry would conduct training in phases, he
said, adding that the training for 50 cyber troopers of Radio Television
Malaysia (RTM) would start soon.
Dr Rais said these cyber troopers were not formed with any political aim in
mind but to disseminate information closely associated with the ministry.
