[NEWS] SELANGOR BN ELECTION MACHINERY - 3

On plans by Yayasan Selangor to demolish its student hostels in Kampung

Pandan in Kuala Lumpur, Muhyiddin said so far there had been no news if

alternative accommodation would be provided for the students if the buildings

were torn down but it was understood they would be placed in hostels of schools

    under the Education Ministry.

"As the Education Minister, I think the Selangor government is trying to

pass the buck to my ministry. This is very irresponsible and I think the people

of Selangor will be very disappointed," he said, adding that not many states

were as lucky as Selangor to have hostels for students and a state university

    (Universiti Selangor).

This was unlike the BN government which was committed to expanding state

assets without compromising the interests of the people, he said.

Asked about PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat''s intention to stand

again in the next GE, Muhyiddin said it was his prerogative.

"He is PAS'' spiritual leader and calls the shots. Who can say Nik Aziz

    should not contest?," he said.
