    An affected resident, Selva Parvathy, 39, said he could not send his son,

    his only child, to school after the boy came down with rashes on using water

    from the hydrant to bathe.

    "We have been depending on the hydrant since the pipes burst," he told

    Bernama.

    Meanwwhile, homemaker Siti Rohayu, 31, said she was disappointed with SYABAS

    for not informing them earlier about the incident.

    She claimed a majority of the children in the area could not go to school

    while some traders did not open their shops today.

    "My family was forced to have our meals outside; only today did Syabas send

    a water truck to the area," she lamented.
