KOTA BAHARU, April 29 (Bernama) -- PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz
Nik Mat admitted giving personal contributions to some of the people who took
part in an assembly supported by the opposition in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Nik Aziz, who did not take part in the assembly himself, described his
contribution as a personal gesture.
"As for others I do not know, but I gave from my own pocket money to those
in my area. They asked for RM20, I just gave the amount," he told reporters at
his official residence at JKR10 here today.
The Menteri Besar of Kelantan was replying to allegations that opposition
parties gave monetary contributions to the assembly''s participants like pocket
money for accommodation, transportation and meals in Kuala Lumpur.
On allegations that demonstrators had turned violent at the rally, Nik Aziz
said it was up to the authorities to investigate the matter.
