KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 9): Air Asia Bhd is not keen on acquiring any other airlines in the region as it preferred to grow organically, said its group chief executive officer.
"I am not a believer of (growing by) acquisitions, I'm a firm believer of organic growth," Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said after witnessing the signing ceremony between Air Asia X and the International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) on Thursday.
He explained that although it had acquired Batavia Air, it was only because the Indonesian entity was a right fit and the opportunity came at the right time.
