Agricultural Minister Noh Omar continues to maintain that he has no stake in a prawn farm in Tanjung Karang as alleged by Sekinchan assemblyperson Ng Suee Lim.
"My response is the same as what (Pristine Agrofood Sdn Bhd) told Malaysiakini this (Wednesday) morning.
"Clearly, I merely leased the land to the company and was not involved in developing the farm," he told the news portal at a buka puasa reception with the media at Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, yesterday.
Ng had revealed a letter of affirmation signed by Pristine Agrofood director Chu Bak Teck this morning as purported proof of Noh being more than a mere landlord of the farm, as the minister had claimed.
The letter was written to support a private caveat on the land, and says that it was to protect Pristine Agrofood's interests in the joint venture.
When contacted, Chu explained that it was in fact a tenancy agreement, but written like a joint-venture accord to protect both parties.
Further to Ng's allegations, Noh urged Ng, of the DAP, to mind his own business of developing Sekinchan .
"I suggest that he take care of the condominiums in Sekinchan first," he said caustically.
