Ivica Olic will miss the European Championship in Poland and Ukraine after suffering a thigh injury in Croatia's 1-1 friendly draw with Norway on Saturday.
And the 32-year-old has now said that he will take into account the injury as well as his age in deciding whether to hang up his boots for the national team.
“It’s hard to say whether I will never play for Croatia again. But that seems to be the natural course of things,” he told Sportske Novosti.
Olic's injury will sideline him for about four to six weeks and thus will miss what would have likely been his last major tournament.
After his recovery, Olic, who will leave Bayern Munich for Wolfsburg in July, said that he would like to fully concentrate on his new club and then decide whether he will ever play for Croatia again.
