Qinan Zhu Biography
After winning a gold medal in 2004, Zhu fell just short of earning another one in his home country four years later. The Chinese rifle shooter finished second to India's Abhinav Bindra in the 10-meter event in Beijing following a record-setting performance in Athens. Zhu heads into these Games after winning a gold medal at the 2011 World Cup finals, where he scored a perfect 600 in the qualifying round and set another mark for the highest final-round score, 103.8. That first-place finish was his fourth in the World Cup finals dating to 2004. He's won 13 golds during stops in that series over the past eight years. Zhu won his second Asian shooting title in 2011 and finished second this year. He took gold at the 2010 Asian Games and was third at the 2006 world championships.
