PADANG RENGAS, July 28 (Bernama) -- Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri

Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said PAS'' decision to implement hudud law, which was

opposed by the DAP, showed that cooperation within the opposition was not

sincere and only meant to bring down Barisan Nasional (BN).

He said the opposition hoped to topple the BN government in the 13th general

election and had no intention of forming a government to manage the people''s

affairs.

"Their coalition is not a strong one...they conspire to bring down BN, not

to help or put the people first," he told reporters after presenting a hearse

donated by Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) during a breaking-of-fast at the Kati

Mosque, here today.

Mohamed Nazri, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister''s Department was

commenting on a statement made by Kelantan Menteri Besar and PAS spiritual

leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat yesterday, which echoed the party''s stand on

championing hudud law despite DAP''s disapproval.

DAP chairman Karpal Singh was reported to have asked PAS leaders not to

continuously bring up the issue of hudud law and Muslim country which could

inhibit the opposition coalition''s progress to Putrajaya.

At the ceremony, Mohamed Nazri who is also Rengas Member of Parliament,

presented a replica key to Jamek Mardhiah Mosque chairman Ali Abdul Hamid and

BSN account cards to eight selected surau in Kati.
