PAFA TO MONITOR PLAYERS AND OFFICIALS TO CHECK CORRUPTION

IPOH, Feb 6 (Bernama) - The Perak Football Association (Pafa) will monitor

the Super League and President''s Cup squads to ensure that they are free of

    corruption.

Its president Datuk Zainol Padzi Paharuddin said that players or officials

found involved in corruption would be penalised including sacked or removed

    immediately.

"We are monitoring this matter and don''t want to see a repeat of what

happened to Malaysian football in 1994," he told reporters here today.

He said Pafa has invested millions of ringgit to create a strong team to

compete in the Super League and President''s Cup.

"Corruption will not only affect the player''s performance but also that of

the whole team," said Zainol who is also State Arts, Culture and Youth Committee

    chairman.

Pafa would hold seminars to instill trust and accountability among players
