Palermo director Giorgio Perinetti confirms Napoli bid for Balzaretti

Palermo general director Giorgio Perinetti has confirmed that his side have received an offer from Napoli for Federico Balzaretti.

The Partenopei have long been suggested as an interested party in the 30-year-old defender as coach Walter Mazzarri looks to fine-tune his squad in the summer transfer window.

Perinetti claims that there is no shortage of suitors for Balzaretti, but insisted that the club will not make any decision before consulting with the Italy international, who is believed to be intent on staying put.

"Napoli have made the best offer for Balzaretti, but like we have said so many times, the player's wish will be decisive," Perinetti told Sky Sport Italia.

"We will discuss this when Balzaretti returns from his holiday. I can say it is not only Roma and Napoli who want him.

"Federico has always said that he wants to stay or go to Paris Saint-Germain, so we will see if there can be alternatives to this."

Balzaretti, who joined Palermo from Fiorentina in 2008, has caught the eye of a number of clubs after impressing for Italy at Euro 2012, where he made four appearances.
