KLites are really a spoilt bunch and have it easy when it comes to getting some pampering. In fact, the problem has never been where to get a massage, but what kind to get. There are quite a few types available, and a novice or a first-timer will face quite a struggle in deciding what kind of massage will suit them and their needs best.
We've decided to make it a bit easier by describing what the various kinds of massages are, so you can decide if it's for you. We've also listed our suggestions for where to go, but by all means experiment and find out what works best. Finding a kind of massage and a particular spa that suits you is a personal choice, so have fun and good luck!
Shiatsu
Shiatsu brings the body into balance by moving your qi (energy) into the correct balance. The practitioner moves the qi from areas where there is too much to areas where there is not enough. Unlike other massage styles where the practitioners use their own muscle strength when working on the body, shiatsu is much gentler. During the session, the practitioner quietly concentrates on the transfer of energy and balancing the body. The receiver experiences warmth and a gentle touch, which is deeply relaxing.

Involves stretching and deep massage, this form of bodywork is usually performed on the floor and the masseuse manipulates your body in order to release tension. While this isn't the kind of massage you will fall asleep to, it does have two major advantages — there is no oil, so its least obtrusive to your daily schedule, and you don't have to be unclothed, as they will give you comfortable clothes to wear during the session. Expect to feel energised and revived even after a quick hour-long session.
