GEORGE TOWN, June 6 (Bernama) -- The Penang National Arts and Culture
Department (JKKN) will organise a programme to popularise arts and culture, at
Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Air Tawar, Butterworth, Friday, at 8.30pm.
State JKKN director Mariam Sulaiman said the programme, themed ''To
Appreciate The Beauty Of Arts Together'', would expose the public to the music
and dances of the local communities.
"The programme is aimed at boosting interest especially among the young in
our arts and culture regardless of backgrounds," she said in a statement here,
today.
She said the public would also have the opportunity to enjoy the
performances of 1960s singer Datuk A. Rahman Hassan and popular artiste Black.
Mariam said interesting prizes could be won by visitors in the lucky draw.
