Walaupun Ketua Polis Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Mohmad Salleh mengesyorkan supaya penganjur Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat esok diadakan di Bukit Jalil, tetapi Pakatan Rakyat tetap dengan rancangannya untuk berkumpul di Stadium Merdeka.

Timbalan Presiden PAS, Mohamad Sabu berkata kerana Pakatan sudahpun membuat persiapan di Stadium Merdeka, maka adalah mustahil untuk menukar tempat pada saat-saat akhir.

Bercakap kepada pemberita di Kuala Lumpur hari ini, beliau berkata, ini adalah hari terakhir sebelum perhimpunan itu berlangsung esok dan menegaskan bahawa "sistem pembesar suara telahpun disediakan."

Beliau berkata, stadium bersejarah itu yang terletak di tengah-tengah bandar menjadi lokasi yang selesa kerana kemudahan pengangkutan awam untuk membawa peserta ke situ.
