Peter Ho's "Dearest" to be unveiled in Venice

29 Aug – Peter Ho's new movie "Dearest" will be premiered at the Out of Competition selection at the 71st Venice Film Festival.

As reported on Xinhua News, the movie tells the story of a divorced couple, Tian Wenjun and Lu Xiaojuan, whose lives turned for the worse when their son Peng goes missing.

After combing half the country in search of him and encountering another couple experiencing similar misfortune, they are finally reunited with their son in a remote village - and find out that Peng is no longer the same boy as he was.

Lead actress Zhao Wei has also arrived in Venice on 27 August to promote the movie.

Aside from "Dearest", Ann Hui's "The Golden Era", starring Tang Wei, will also be the closing film for the festival on 6 September, while Wang Xiaoshuai's "Red Amnesia" and Chen Tao's "Red Heat" will be competing for the Golden Lion and Orizzonti-Short Films selections respectively.

The 71st Venice Film Festival runs from 27 August to 6 September 2014.
