GEORGE TOWN, July 23 (Bernama) -- Police arrested two men believed to have

been actively involved in house break-in cases in Timur Laut since 2010 in an

anti-crime operation in Tanjung Tokong here yesterday.

Timur Laut police chief ACP Gan Kong Meng said the duo, aged 20 and 30, were

nabbed after the police stopped their car at about 8am.

"They tried to put up a fight but the police managed to detained the two

suspects, who are also believed to have broken into a house in Tanjung Tokong

Upon a search, he said police also found a small bag containing cash of

RM3,500 in various currencies and a backpack containing house break-in and

carjacking tools.

house break-ins in the district since 2010 involving losses of RM229,500.

The unemployed 30-year-old man also has nine previous criminal records
