    GEORGE TOWN, May 23 — Police will take action against the group of men who disrupted a candlelight vigil in Esplanade last night that resulted in a scuffle, injuring a reporter and an activist.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 (Bernama) -- A police corporal and his

father-in-law were killed in a road accident at Mile 18, Jalan Besar Kundang,

Sungai Buloh, near here today.

Muhd Riduan Ab Razak, 32, who was attached to the Federal police (Bukit

Aman) Special Operations Division (D8), and his father-in-law, Baharin Puteh,

59, were on their way home in Tasik Biru neraby when the accident took place.

Both of them died on the spot in the 12.30pm incident.

An investigating officer, when met at the Sungai Buloh Hospital mortuary,

said it was believed Muhd Riduan had lost control of his car before it grazed

the rear of a bus parked on the road shoulder.

"The car was said to have spun as a result of that. The ensuing impact of

the crash may have caused them to die on the spot," he said.

Meanwhile, Muhd Riduan''s mother-in-law, Zunaidah Mahmud, 58, said her

husband and son-in-law were on their way home after sending her daughter

Nuraqilah Baharin, 26, who is Muhd Ridzuan''s wife, to work in Subang.

"They had stopped at a supermarket before the crash. I never thought I would

lose both of them," she said.

She said her daughter and Muhd Riduan had only been married a year and did

not have any children.

Zunaidah, a teacher, said she and her husband arrived in Tasik Biru

yesterday morning to attend a relative''s wedding in Shah Alam today.

"I live in Terengganu and arrived yesterday. I came here for a holiday but

have to accept what has happened," she added.

Meanwhile, Gombak Police Chief ACP Abdul Rahim Abdullah confirmed the

incident and that police had started investigating the case.
